As summer is now finally in sight, Indian fashionistas are officially ready to get be kitted out in the top summer trends for 2015.

We saw a perfect showcase of some of these top trends at the 1st edition of India Beach Fashion Week that took part in Goa recently. The new fashion event wasn’t all about beach wear, but also showcased a number of summery trends that can be worn as everyday wear, that was shown by over 30 participating designers. Here are our top summer trends for 2015:

1. Colour Chaos

Bright colours are always the go to for your summer wardrobe, and this year is no different! From sunny hues of orange, peach, and yellow to aquatic blue and indigo, this year's trend is all about contrasting colours being worn together or braving one bold and bright colour head to toe. We loved the bright yellow sheer maxi dress by Indian designer Raakesh Agarwal - team with a messy up do natural make-up for a perfect summery day outfit.

2. Fringing

Of course, since the 70’s are now back in full swing, that means fringing is also back in a huge way. But in terms of summer, fringing isn't all camel suede and saddlebags, we’re seeing lighter fringing like subtle tassels this summer 2015. We are seeing this 70’s trend make a comeback with modern repetitions of the trim on everything from dresses to skirts to tops to swimwear!

We loved the unique cape style maxi by Indian designer Komal Sood featured at India Beach Fashion Week - this style can be worn over a bikini at the beach or even teamed with a pair of heels for an evening look!

8. Long Length Shirts / Shirt Dresses

This trend is great because it’s both versatile and simple. Bright colours are in this summer so embrace this trend with long colourful shirts in either blocks such as Vijay Balhara’s fun and trendy long length colour blocked shirt or with mixed tropical patterns.

Long see-through/sheer shirts are great to wear over swimwear if you are around the beach for a simple but elegant look. You can also choose to keep the buttons of the shirt open and wear it like a light jacket over a little dress for casual day wear. Long length transparent shirts are a sure way to be ahead of the beachwear trends this summer season! You can also choose to wear them over a pair of ripped jeans and a simple tee for a casual day outing.
