Well, that's a wrap, fellow fashionistas! The curtain has drawn on Fashion Month, with New York, London, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks shows being officially over. The latest Milan Fashion Week took pace from September 17th to the 22nd and it certainly did not disappoint. We saw legendary names of Made in Italy Fashion such as Gucci, Prada, Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbanna, Versace and Giorgio Armani, including a variety of amazing up and coming talent and designers.
We saw a large variety of gorgeous styles and new trends but one that stood out as being dominate was layered look clothing. Perfect for Autumn/winter this trend was seen used by a number of the designers showcased at Milan Fashion Week, including the likes of ETRO, Marco de Vincenzo and missoni.
Our favourite layered look clothing had to be from Missoni - his airy, vaporous, featherweight forms moved freely and elegantly as the models strutted down the catwalk. The materials shaped and reshaped at every step, defining the energy of the Missoni Summer 2015 collection. The collection included a unique variety of style such as wide pant skirts, long dresses, high waisted blouses and light weight class trend coats. These styles were teamed with contrasting prints and textures such as broad stripes, all over prints on hammered silk, shantung and chiffon. We personally loved the compositions of flowers in embroidery and detail in a number of the designs! Colours varied from shades of pink and yellow to the different tones of green all the way to turquoise, ending with mauve and purple with silver and ruby. The bold primary colours blended together in pastel hues and fluorescent accents to the multicolour and monochromatic palette of the collection.
We have picked out some of our favourite similar style layered look clothing, which we feel is perfect for this Autumn/Winter! Available now at Strand of Silk.
