Manish Arora is one of the most renowned and inspiring contemporary Indian designers in the global fashion world today.
He is known mainly for his intricate craftsmanship and unique play on vivid colours, such as his trademark palette of pinks and regal gold. His innovative designs are heavily inspired by traditional Indian heritage but with a distinct contemporary vibe.
Having initially studied at the National Institute of Fashion Technology in New Delhi, Manish Arora then set up his own label in 1997. It was in 1997, that the public initially viewed Manish's unique design aesthetic with the launch and showcase of his label 'Manish Arora'. From this moment the designer grew from strength to strength, quickly gaining a dedicated following and fan base in the fashion world, which then led to Manish Arora exhibiting at London Fashion Week in 2005. Then in 2007, Manish showcased his collection for the first time at the renowned Paris Fashion Week. He swiftly became a member of the French Federation of Pret-a-Porter within the same year.
Today, Manish sells and showcases his wonderful creations all over the world across the most prestigious and well-known stores such as Galleries Lafayette, Beams and Joyce.
2011 was when Manish was appointed as the head Creative Director for the renowned French fashion house 'Paco Robanne', where he designed two extremely successful collections for them.
Manish Arora has been featured across the world with countless fashion spreads in some of the world biggest International magazines such as Vogue, V Magazine, Harpers, Interview, Elle and many more. He has also collaborated with some of the world’s most notorious brands such as Walt Disney, Swarvoski, Barbie, Mono Prix, Swatch, Reebok, Nivea, MAC Cosmetics, Amrapali amongst many others. Manish also has a licensing agreement with ‘Inspecs Eyewear UK’.
His rich and vivid designs have been worn by some of the world’s biggest international stars, from Rihanna and Lady Gaga to Katy Perry.
In 2012, Manish Arora collaborated with India's biggest women's ethic wear retailer 'BIBA', to create a label titled "Indian by Manish Arora". This collection was created to bring a sense of distinct design and craftsmanship to Indian wear.
Manish Arora’s most recent venture is his showcase at Paris Fashion Week 2015. The designers spectacular show featured an impressive twist, as the audience were treated to the popular series "Game of Thrones" while the show took place, which was shown through a kaleidoscope. Manish Arora fashioned an impressive fantasyland of pretty warrior princesses and tribal chiefs in a burst of his signature regal pinks and gold’s.
