Lakmé Fashion Week Autumn/Festive 2013 has ended, and what a show it has been! Countless designers, including many of India's most elite, showcased their creations, ranging from bright traditional garments to contemporary monochrome outfits. Fashionistas and Bollywood celebrities alike flocked to Mumbai to partake in the festival of fashion.
The six-day extravaganza, which kicked off on Thursday 22 August, was packed with big-name designers, including Nikhil Thampi, Payal Singhal, Ranna Gill, Anita Dongre, Manish Malhotra, Shantanu Goenka, Amit Aggarwal, Rocky S, Pria Kataaria Puri and many more.
Here are our favourite moments from the week - we expect you'll be as dazzled as we are by the end of this gallery.
Looking up to the sky for inspiration, Ken Ferns hit upon the moon as his muse and called his collection 'Moon Rise'. Sedate ivory, liquid gold, dusty beige and shades of deep greys, gave the colour palette a romantic touch as well as mysterious, futuristic appeal.
Anita Dongre, creative director of label AND, revived a 70's retro look with this collection, which focused on 'breaking the myth of all work and no play'. Subtle contemporary styles characterised the collection, which was one of our favourites of the week.
Arora's collection infused a multitude of aceesories with Art Deco influences. Architecture seemed to have played an important role in the designs, which were carved with glass, crystal, and featured mother of pearl inlays
The designer's collection, entitled 'Fast and Curious', featured digital printed garments which were brightly coloured. Models strutted down the ramp amid a spectacular laser show.
Ranna Gill made her debut at Lakmé Fashion Week with her island-based collection which was sponsored by the Mauritius Tourism Board. Her garments were colourful and lightweight, suitable for wearing on the beach or on a summer holiday.
Rocky S, who was recently reported to have taken his first steps to becoming a Bollywood director, showed off his contemporary collection which included dramatic monochrome colours with beautifully intricate styling.
Karishma Kapoor looked stunning in a full sleeved, floor-length gown with embroidered detailing on the top half for Vikram Phadnis, whose collection celebrated rural india.
