On day 4 of Lakme Fashion Week Sonam & Paras Modi channelled a theme of Turkey with their stunning collection titled ‘Istanblu’.
Turkey’s ethnically rich heritage centred as the soul inspiration for their Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 15 collection. We saw an influx of long and floaty floor length jackets and draped loose fitting trousers in hues of soft mint greens, powdery pinks and navy blues embellished with rich gold’s, showcased by striking models wearing pastel toned turbans that added a distinct decadent feel to the whole collection.
Anushree Reddy’s Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 15 collection was both fun and feminine with a musical touch from Kanika Kapoor who opened the show and kept the audience dancing in their seats.
The models showcased huge flared lehengas in soft powdery hues of pinks, creams and mint greens teamed with chic highly embellished blouses and sheer dupattas ornamented with gorgeously detailed embroidery. The collection was fit for a princess, and perfect for your dream fairy tale sangeet ensemble!
Spring has officially sprung with an influx of brightly coloured flowers in Ken Fern's stunning mix of geometric prints and feminine florals. Florals never seem to go out of style and always make a come back for spring/summer, but when they are combined with unlikely and unique elements such as geometric prints and monochrome, it makes them even more desirable! The collection consisted of light and floaty sheer jackets layered with mini skirts, shorts and quirky cut out crops, as well as gorgeous two pieces perfect for those sunny summer days.
Payal Singhal’s day 4 Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 15 collection was heavily inspired by ‘Sheesh Mahal’, infused with rich and historic techniques teamed with beautiful models ornamented in stunning mirror-work and decadent embellishment, creating a distinct royal aesthetic. Again the colours were soft and muted throughout the collection, with an influx of nude pinks and whites. A definite favourite of ours!
Neha Agarwal’s day 4 collection focused on simple and classic silhouettes that created stylish and wearable looks – we loved the super chic separates in bright summery hues and fun and quirky pattern detailing such as mantra symbols and kitsch Russian dolls. We particularly loved the floor length asymmetrical skirts in summery light materials, the perfect Spring/Summer attire!
On day 5 at Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 15, we saw a stunning collection by Ridhi Mehra. The designer is known for creating gorgeous ethnic garments that focus strongly on Indian tradition and culture, and that is exactly what we saw on the ramp for this Summer/Resort collection!
Ridhi's collection consisted of contemporary silhouettes and traditional touches that are perfect for the modern Indian woman. The collection included gorgeous carved silks, satin and net that works perfectly with the delicate and feminine silhouettes. The colour pallet for Ridhi Mehra’s collection included dreamy whites, golds and sherbet tones such as blush, peaches and soft mint greens.
The last day of Lakme Fashion Week 2015 saw a whole new range of styles and colours ready for the hot summer.
Wendell Rodricks's collection was vibrant, bright and out of this world! The best thing about this colourful collection was how different it was from a lot of the other collections. His models were bubbly, fun and so full of energy as they walked down the ramp. His collection started with quirky beachwear and gradually transitioned into more formal and casual wear for the spring/summer months.
The trends that stood out to us and that are sure to be on everyone’s want list for this Summer 2015, were the bright colours and colour blocking, short day dresses, quirky metallic shoes, big retro hairstyle and loud makeup!
Farah Sanjana is always full of surprises when it comes to new and fresh fashion and this collection was no different. She left everyone in awe with her collection at day 5 of Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 15. The designer took everyone’s breath away with strong contrasting shades and modern prints. The models that walked the ramp looked both edgy and sophisticated in the structured garments that were mostly inspired by architectural shapes, and origami prints in tones of deep blue and stark whites.
Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 15 finally drew to a close and the grand finale saw one of India’s most talented designers take centre stage - Anamika Khanna.
Anamika Khanna presented a stunning collection at day 5 of Lakme Fashion Week with an influx of sheer fabrics that gave the garments a flattering shape and structure, teamed with other materials such as organza and pure silks. When it comes to colours Anamika went for a rich colour scheme of deep blues, whites and silvers.
The theme for the collection was 'Sculpt', which included contrasting sculpted silhouettes and fluidity as well as a focus of construction and deconstruction. Kareena Kapoor was the collections showstopper as she walked the ramp looking gorgeous in one of the best ensembles of the night!
