Day 2 of Lakme Fashion Week 2015 kickstarted with Divya Sheth's stunning floral collection, perfect for the scorching summer heat.
We witnessed an influx of earthy floral prints in deep summery colours teamed with flowing floral drapes that brought a distinct summer vibe to the ramp. The collection also consisted of long elegant printed jackets and feminine sequinned kurtis, a match made in heaven!
The colour pallet comprised of powdery shades such as blue and coral seen on flowing maxis with asymmetric high low hemlines and fairy like embellishment that looked oh so chic on the ramp. Her summery collection definitely began the Handlooms and Textiles day at Lakme Fashion Week with style.
Vrisa by Rahul & Shikha has given a new meaning to Ethnic wear on day 2 of the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2015. The collection titled ‘Samarkand’ was an innovative fusion of Indian textiles teamed with distinctive international culture. The beautiful collection consisted of ethnic style prints on cream hues teamed with traditional accessories like detailed silver borla (mang tikka).
We saw garments such as printed jackets, floaty maxis and light cotton anarkali suits that dominated their Summer/Resort 2015 collection. We also saw ankle length cotton kurtis worn with pants and skirts. Beautiful and boldly printed handbags brought a splash of laid back charm into their collection.
Shruti Sancheti brought a burst of colour to the ramp on day 2 of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2015 with a myriad of earthy tones, bright crimsons and blustery silhouettes. The colourful collection was dedicated to the young generation of beatniks who are not constrained by any boundaries or social standards.
Inspired heavily by the energetic Thar region of India, the collection consisted of natural fabrics, supporting the concept of ‘Going Green’. A variety of fabrics were used such as Khadi silk, organic cotton, and many more, also bringing signature Gujarat and Rajasthani prints to the ramp creating a beautiful collection that was both ethnic and stylish.
Another day 2 collection at Lakme Fashion Week was showcased by Gaurang Shah, titled ‘Kalpavriksha’, and completely blew us away!
The line was inspired heavily from the wish fulfilling ‘divine tree’. The main reason behind the collection is to pay tribute to numerous summer-friendly fabrics and silhouettes. Vidya Balan walked the ramp for Gaurang Shah, looking amazing in a heavily layered earthy toned saree with thick gold borders.
Vasundhara stole the show for us at day 2 of Lakme Fashion Week, the collection depicted the power of women by accessorising them head to toe. The exotic and beautiful pieces of jewellery made a huge statement on the ramp this Summer Resort 2015 and left everyone who watched the show in awe.
Vasundhara's heavily layered and embellished designs and were inspired heavily by the Mahabharata.
