Indian fashion's answer to Gigi, Bella,Kendall & Kylie
28 th Feb 2017

In their early 20s while most regular folk are constantly revising their CVs and beating down the doors of prospective employers for first jobs, the Hadid and Jenner sisters have already achieved fashion royalty status. Millennials and fashion purists alike obsessively follow their social media pages and lap up every ounce of luxe dripped deliciousness from their uber glamorous lifestyles. Luxury fashion houses are willing to pay dizzying amounts of dough to have them walk their prestigious New York, Milan, London & Paris runways while brands are falling over themselves to feature them in their campaigns.

Gigi, Bella, Kendall and Kylie are the undisputed queens of cool in a world where popularity is no longer restricted to conventional advertising and fashion shows. Those are as passé as using your cell phone just to make phone calls! Who needs boring old magazine pictures and blurry shots from fashion weeks when Snapchat stories, Instagram videos, Facebook pictures and Twitter updates let you experience it all in real time from anywhere in the world. There has never been more evidence of the very real influence and power of social media than in the making of these IT-Girls into Supermodels.

And if you’re wondering how taking a few fun selfies results in mega bucks in the form of multi million dollar contracts with internationally renowned labels and brands then look no further than the parents. Gigi and Bella are daughters of former supermodel Yolanda Hadid and real estate tycoon Mohamed Hadid while Kendall and Kylie are stepsisters to the famous Kardashain clan. Their parents are infamous Kardashain momager (mom + manager) Kris Jenner and Olympic medalist Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn Jenner).

Not only did all four of them hit the genetic lottery when it comes to looks, their parents’ connections provided them with the opportunities that few are afforded. Without taking away from their own dedication, discipline and hard work it’s always a plus to have the influential backing of experienced parents.

India is no stranger to nepotism especially when it comes to kids from famous families so we were undoubtedly curious to see if we can identify our own homegrown versions of the International stars. Needless to say there are already some very strong contenders who are most likely to takeover Indian fashion and Bollywood to become the superstars of tomorrow.

Jhanvi Kapoor

Already garnering the tag of  ‘stylista’ for her sizzling outfit choices and giving everyone major #lifegoals through pictures from her luxury family vacays, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s eldest daughter has her sights firmly set on becoming queen bee of Bollywood. Not one to fall back on her famous last name to prove herself worthy of acting in a major feature, the stunning lass is attending The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in Los Angeles before making her BIG B-town debut. No word yet on who will be chosen to launch her possibly illustrious career but it will be worth the wait. And just like her international counter parts Jhanvi also has younger sister Khushi to follow in quick succession.

Navya Naveli Nanda

For those who aren’t avid followers of Bollywood’s family trees, the last name Nanda may sound totally ordinary until you realize it belongs to none other than Amitabh Bachchan’s eldest granddaughter. Navya is the daughter of industrialist Nikhil Nanda and Shweta Bachchan Nanda. And even though her mother didn’t have any Bollywood dreams, this petite young woman has already made inroads with other filmy families. She completed her schooling at Seven Oaks School in London with Shahrukh Khan’s dashing son Aryan and is currently studying in New York. Her Instagram followers are often treated to snap shots of her stylish appearances making it rather evident that she fully intends to follow in the footsteps of her maternal family.

Sara Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s oldest Sara Ali Khan created quite the stir when Karan Johar decided to mentor her. The rumour mills are going crazy about Sara rejecting a role in Student Of The Year 2 because she’s not too happy about making her debut in a movie featuring two leading ladies. The once chubby Sara has transformed herself into her new svelte shape and is raring to go but only if given the perfect launch pad. Luckily for her, Karan Johar is keen to provide her with exactly what she wants and has taken it upon himself to introduce her to the silver screen in one of his own productions.

Aalia Furniturewalla

Not exactly a Bollywood kid but already an Instagram sensation is the bold and ballsy Aalia Furniturewalla. Daughter of the equally gutsy television personality Pooja Bedi and businessman Guetta Ebrahim Furniturewalla, Aalia is not just a pretty face and hot body because she’s also inherited her mother’s penchant for writing. She’s written blogs in conjunction with Time of India’s website as well as some other online publications. Currently in New York studying Film and Television with a minor in Business, this stunning girl is a future star in the making.
