India Runway Week is Asia’s youngest current fashion trade event. Each season of India Runway Week introduces bright new talent and displays young Indian fashion designers firmly within the global fashion world.
IRW provides a platform for both established and upcoming talented indian fashion designers but also introduces budding and fresh designers to showcase their personal collections.
This gives the designers excellent business opportunities from a variety of both bulk and retail buyers. In addition to assisting the trade of ideas and networking interactions between designers, buyers and affiliates, the event offers an inspiring experience for everyone.
With around 35 designers from different cities and 12 shows within three days, there was a variety of multi and single designer shows during the week. The fashion fraternity and capital audience saw designers from a varity of areas such as Mumbai, Calcutta, Jaipur, Ludhiana, Delhi and many more.
Along with 10 gen next Indian fashion designers, India Runway week had four budding designers and many emerging designers participating. They showcased collections such as 'Indulgence' by Shirin and Cheena and 'Invokee' by Indrani Chowdhury, with designers such as Sandeep Singh, Pummy Bhatia and Ashfaque Ahmad in the budding designer’s category.
One of the most moving and stand out shows was displayed at the opening of the event by Indian Federation For Fashion Development, which showcased an amazing collection by Indian fashion Designers Dolly J and Kirti Rathore, whose creative embellishment and sophisticated designs were perfect for today’s modern and strong women. To represent this collection Laxmi Shah - the acid attack victim, who has been nominated for the prestigious International Women of courage award, walked the ramp looking stunning!
