Bollywood singer Tulsi Kumar, sister of Bhushan Kumar, who is the chairman of the T-Series music company tied the knot with her fiancée in February this year in a traditional Indian wedding ceremony. This was followed by a lavish reception early this month that was attended by the who’s who of Bollywood.
Where there is Bollywood, there is obviously plenty of style to watch out for. So here is a look at Tulsi Kumar’s wedding and the beautiful Indian wedding dresses that were on display there.
The wedding was a gala affair and perhaps the biggest Bollywood bash this year. The family made sure that they did full justice towards making it a big fat Indian wedding, with festivities spanning over two weeks. While we await the next celebrity wedding to spot the stars in their stylish best, we hope you’ve got enough cues to dress up in gorgeous Indian wedding dresses at the next wedding you attend!
For the sangeet, both the bride and the groom Hitesh Ralhan wore Indian wedding dresses designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Tulsi wore a mint green choli and dupatta with a lehenga that boasted of extravagant embroidery. She accessorised it with jewellery that can be summed up in a word – brilliant.
The groom wore a golden embroidered sherwani that was paired with a beige salwar and maroon velvet dupatta. What left us awestruck was the opulent décor of the venue that was done up in a royal theme.
For the wedding, the groom wore a fully embellished sherwani with a peach dupatta while the bride dazzled in an elegant orange peach and orange lehenga with exquisite craftsmanship. The couple's Indian wedding dresses blended in beautifully with the pink themed mandap of the wedding and this was the look that we loved the most from all of their wedding festivities.
What followed the wedding was a grand reception in Mumbai that was a glamourous affair – from the Big B to Sridevi, all the big names of Boolywood were in attendance. The bride looked resplendent in a golden lehenga festooned with floral embroidery.
The Indian wedding dress of the bride was an aesthetic amalgamation of contemporary style and traditional embellishments. The groom opted for an indigo sherwani with all over embroidery and paired it with a Patiala pyjama to reflect an out and out traditional look.
The star studded reception that was held in Mumbai saw a bevy of actors in their finest Indian wedding dresses.
Sonakshi Sinha charmed us with her choice of colour. She wore a sea green Anita Dongre lehenga and paired it with jewellery from Gehna. Manish Malhotra’s designs were again a popular choice among the women, as with most weddings. We especially loved Shraddha Kapoor’s simple and elegant Manish Malhotra anarkali that she paired with diamond jewellery. Jacqueline Fernandes cut an elegant look in a white and blue Arpita Mehta lehenga.
Among the couples who graced the event, we loved Vidya Balan’s Kanjeevaram saree look and husband Siddharth Roy Kapoor’s smart suit. Newly-weds Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha looked much in love. Dia wore an Anita Dongre maxi with a contrasting dupatta. Sridevi wore a dazzling Manish Malhotra sarees and paired it with glittering diamond jewellery.
