Pallavi Mohan graduated from the University of Arts, London with a degree in Textile Design, and then went onto become the creative force behind the ‘Made in India’ label at Magnolia Martinique.
During her time there she has worked with hugely successful global labels such as Roberto Cavalli, Jean Paul Gaultier and Juicy Couture. This experience has given Mohan a keen understanding about the demands and functioning of the global fashion industry.
In 2007 Mohan launched her own label ‘Not So Serious’, which specialises in collections that merge Western sensibilities with an Indian ethos. A feminine sensibility paired with an interesting mix of colours and mixed media is the essence of the label. ‘Not So Serious’ aims to break the mould and create an individual style that screams simplicity and sophistication.
‘Not So Serious’ made its debut at the Autumn/Winter 09 Wills Style India Fashion Week in New Delhi and has since been featured in a number of renowned publications. Pallavi was shortlisted in the Top 5 designers at Vogue India Fashion Fund 2015 as recognition for her unique designs, wonderful finishes and keen sense of fabric. In addition to this, ‘Not So Serious’ is one of the few labels from India to participate in Who’s Next Paris, Coterie New York and Pure London.
'Not So Serious' retails from boutiques such as Carma, Ensemble, Aza, Ogaan, Fuel, Mogra & Kimaya in India and over 35 boutiques abroad in France, Greece, Italy, Spain, Japan, Singapore, United Kingdom, and Anthropolgy in the United States. Her designs are constantly being sold at Pure in London, Pret a Porter & Atmosphere in Paris, Barcelona Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week & London Fashion Week, where she has always received rave reviews for her collections.
