The costume jewellery offered under her brand “Hyperbole Accessories” uses semiprecious stones, shells, pearls, metal and waste fabrics. The designer behind the brand, Gazal Kothari, is a graduate from the prestigious NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) where she studied Accessory Design. The designer's work journey starts with an inspiration followed by experimentation - highly influenced by elements of nature, Indian culture & heritage, seasonal colours, and experimentation involving trial and error of designs, patterns and textures.
In the designer's words, "...With the onset of a new season, we welcome a fleet of fresh textures and ideas. Seasonal hues are mixed with suitable stones. Patterns are created depending on the look we want to achieve for the jewellery piece. We start with a silhouette and end with a beautiful piece of art. The goal is to produce designs with a contemporary soul and a traditional twist. We at Hyperbole promote the craft of agate stones in Khambhat (Cambay), Gujarat. Where no stone is alike, but theres a beautiful harmony in each stone when combined together and forming a spectacular piece of art...
Our mood board has pops of feminine colours and is dedicated to designing items that the Hyperbole girl can flaunt in all aspects of her life – brunches, lunch meetings, dinner dates, shopping with girls, traditional functions or just to make herself feel pretty and just to add a little drama to her outfit. Our work journey starts with an inspiration followed by experimentation. We are highly influenced by elements of nature, Indian culture & heritage, seasonal colours, and the most valued client feedback. Experimentation involves trial and error of designs, patterns and textures.

BEHIND THE SCENES
The stones used in our designs are sourced from Khambhat, Jaipur and Indonesia. We currently have two functional workshops, stationed in Ahmedabad and Jaipur; where our experienced team of artisans is devoted to creating fine craftsmanship. From the initial design stage to final texture plating & stone placement, extreme care is devoted to quality control and only the best piece is chosen for sale. Our entire process is handcrafted using traditional Indian techniques with negligible to no usage of machines.
With our agate stone collection, we are trying to preserve and promote the beautiful artistry of highly skilled craftsmen of Khambhat. The lovely colour patterns and banding of this translucent gemstone help us capture their craftsmanship in accessories beyond jewellery. With no two agates being the same, it’s definitely a favourite for our limited edition collections. Though our range mostly exhibits gold plated products, every season we foray in to a new collection, with silver and pearl jewellery being our most recent ones. We are a work in progress team experimenting something fresh, bold and appealing that adds a statement to your jewellery.
They say life is too short to wear boring jewellery and I for one totally agree. Hyperbole Accessories was born out of my sheer love for jewellery that sparkles to make a statement. During my four roller coaster years at NIFT Gandhinagar, we explored, experimented, tried and tested traditional, fine and statement/ costume jewellery. Costume jewellery or as I like to call it “experimental jewellery” tends to offer what any designer would dream of – the chance to go wild with their designs & imagination. It gives us the freedom to seamlessly blend bold patterns with pastel colours, or loud hues with simple yet elegant textures. Falling in love with statement jewellery was easy – who doesn’t like to make a dramatic entry after all?
After my graduation in 2014, I decided on venturing out on my own to create a brand that would let its jewellery speak for itself. I pitched a rough business sketch to my parents cum mentors who helped me with the initial capital and a truck load of business tips. Thus started my design journey that saw crazy work/ panic hours, sleepless nights, launches, meetings, collaborations, exhibitions et al. A big shout out to social media for making it so convenient for young entrepreneurs and online sellers like me to connect directly with our customers and jewellery boutiques – be it national or international.
Tapping into the Ahmedabad market with druzy and agate stone collection was a risk well taken as the designs were lovingly accepted and highly appreciated by the audience. It’s truly said that happiness is handmade. Handcrafting every single design and pattern is the philosophy we live by at Hyperbole Accessories. My family and friends have been a tremendous support and a constant encouragement in establishing Hyperbole Accessories and taking my passion for semi precious stones to the next level. With constant inspiration from the radical world around me, I live to create timeless bold elegance.
Be Bold. Be Out there. Be Hyperbole.
