Vijay Arora was a student at Cornell University, USA studying for an MBA and he admits that he never planned to become a designer; he calls it ‘destiny’. He launched his first collection in 1993, which was made up of a collection of men’s kurtas and churidars. By 1994 Vijay Arora had made the change from menswear to womenswear, this was because shis collections of men’s kurtas were loved amongst women and they requested them to be more feminine.
The forte of the label ANANT lies deep within the embroidery and embellishments of the collections. The cuts of the collection are smooth and create a clean silhouette, making the strong style statement of understated elegance which can sometimes be forgotten when trying keep up with today’s exuberant styles.
To date, Vijay Arora and his designer partner Shobhna Arora have created more than 70 collections and have a long list of A-list achievements to go with their wide range of collections. Some of the most notable achievements include, multiple appearances at Lakme Fashion Week since the start of the century including a solo show, solo shows at the French Embassy of Delhi and a Fall Winter show at Park Royal in Delhi.
