Opening the PCJ Delhi Couture Week,indian fashion designer Varun Bahl, won favour with the audience showcasing his chic-meets-retro edition of modern Indian bridal outfits. The location, New Delhi's Taj Palace Hotel was amazingly decorated for the happening with mirrors, candles and white flowers. As usual for fashion weeks with this format the show did not begin on time. Although it was not a big deal to the audience as socialites designers, models and other guests started coming in for the show. Indian designer Varun Bahl tried to mix classical themes of old India with modern trends and styles of the Indian fashion world in his line for Fall 2012-13. Starting the show the first models wore transparent black net creations with embroidery around the wrist. The intention to cut loose from tradtitions but retaining the charm of the old times with modern silhouettes, was unambiguous, what is a great achievement for Varun Bahl. The collection in general was a mix ranging from chiffon, crepe and net sarees to universal lehengas. Varun commented, "The collection is aimed not only at the Indian wedding, but also towards those who love to dress Indian with pride, but are looking for modern updates on traditional Indian silhouettes."
