Designer Urvashi Kaur showcased her autumn/winter collection during Day 3 of Wills India Fashion Week 2014, called Shunya. The collection is mainly made of hand-woven textiles, the predominant colours used are orange, red and yellow.
The Collection featured wearable cuts and tunics as well as ruched silks and exciting flared silhouettes.
Urvashi has incorporated hand-woven textiles and silk like Chanderi, Tissue, Matka, Kota and Kadi cotton celebrating the rich variety of textiles in India but also emphasising the freedom of the human mind.
The designer has used techniques such as tie dye and Shibori to evoke the Bandhej tradition as well as infusing designs with geometric patterns. The collection evokes drama through extensive drapes and creates volume and movement. Various elements of the collection included cowelled shalwars, layered and reversible sheer jackets as well as flared pants and crop tops.
Urvashi's men's collection featured scarves, printed jackets and dhotis. The design blended both prints and fabrics effectively to create a captivating show.
