For designer Tarun Tahiliani, there's a canvas in everyday objects, and his latest muse is an ATM! Tarun has added his midas touch to withdrawing money, by creating a designer ATM for Citibank India to give customers a designer experience. TT has joined hands with the bank, the harbinger of many banking innovations in India in the otherwise humdrum world of financial services, to bring India's first 'designer' ATM to life. Unveiled at his recent bridal couture expo, amidst an opulent procession of clothes, jewels and accessories, Citibank's uber chic ATM will be a new addition to its chosen destination – the DLF Emporio Mall. This ATM will be housed in a super luxurious setting, with internet banking, TV screens and an ambience not found anywhere else in India – the perfect place to spend a moment in the midst of life's finest things.
"I always wondered why withdrawing cash needed to be so dry and I'm delighted to partner with Citibank in its initiative to differentiate this experience. What excited me were the possibilities this unusual canvas offered. Together, we hope to transform a simple transaction into a signature Citigold experience," said Tarun. N Rajashekaran, country business manager, Global Consumer Group, Citi India, said, "Our ATMs are key customer touchpoints. The concept of a designer ATM is representative of the sophistication of our Citigold customers and caters to their expectation of a differentiated experience. Tarun Tahiliani's style and craftsmanship complement our objective of making our customers' experiences superlative." Indian weddings have always fascinated Tarun Tahiliani and his annual bridal couture exposition is a case in point.
So, when he hosted the current edition of his couture extravaganza, twice in the same day – morning and evening – he created the ambience of the typical big, fat Delhi wedding, complete with dance performances, models in resplendent attire as brides and grooms. The evening show was held especially for the clients of Citibank's flagship, market-leading wealth management platform for high net worth customers, Citigold Select. The show-stopper of the evening was Tarun's rendition of Citibank's designer ATM, unveiled for the select few. Seen interacting with guests were Citibank's N Rajashekaran; Rahul Soota; Sameer Kaul and Arjun Chowdhry. "Our clients enjoy fashion and art and we always look to associate with platforms that resonate with their lifestyles, such as this show. Evenings such as this are our way of conveying our appreciation to our customers for their longstanding relationship with us," said Rahul Soota, Head, Retail and Commercial Bank, Citibank India.
