The Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring/ Summer 2015 five-day fashion spectacular had the opening and closing shows displaying their beautiful collections at off-site locations.

Tarun Tahiliani who kicked off the fashion week chose upscale DLF Emporio mall in Vasant Kunj. He said the reason for his choice for an off-site location is that he could experiment with the set and the runway and was not confined to a set that was pre-defined. He said he wanted to give the fashion watchers a complete experience by setting the mood with the perfect ambience for showcasing his beautiful pieces. His collection turned out to be a head-turner as all of the pieces showcased being extremely colourful as well.

For the finale, Rohit Bal displayed his beautiful collection using Qutub Minar as the backdrop under a beautiful moonlit night within the archaeological area of Quli Khan’s Tomb. His show was truly larger than life with the picturesque backdrop, beautiful music that accompanied models with his gorgeous collections.

Fashion choreographer, Rashmi Virmani adds that office shows do turn out to be the most stunning but they are also a big challenge in terms of a budget, to create the perfect lighting, sounds and stage. She further adds that everything from the degree of light and the temperature has to be coordinated. She says for off-site shows, the planning and logistics should also be perfectly organized.

Off-site shows are however, definitely worth it as both these locations and shows turned out to leave watchers awe-inspired!
