Strand of Silk presented a stunning collection of exclusive Indian designer clothing and accessories at a charity event at the historic Palazzo Sant’elia in Palermo, Italy. Unique hand picked collections from leading Indian fashion designers were showcased to a large audience of around 500 people in support of the Italian Charity Association, Aisla. All proceeds from the tickets of the evening were donated to the charity.

The event was held in the stunning city of Palermo in Sicily, and was the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable evening that showcased stunning and unique fashion. The collections included a variety of contemporary designs that featured traditional Indian craftsmanship showcased on contemporary silhouettes. The event was conceptualised by Ms. Loredana Mannina and Ms. Maria Giovanna Martorana Genuardi of Palermo Fashion Blog. The audience for the evening included a number of prominent members of the local community including fashion fanatics, business frontrunners and even the government officials representing the city of Palermo.

Event Catwalk

The event was held in support of the Italian charity Aisla and was held in a luxury manor with canapés and drinks for the guests in the foyer of Palazzo Sant’elia, which was then followed by the unforgettable main event - the fashion show. Strand of Silk was the primary sponsor of the event, but there was also a selected local Italian brands who presented their collections over the course of the evening.

The catwalk, which was at the heart of the event, occupied multiple rooms of the stunning palace. The beautiful and chic settings were complemented by the contemporary collections from Strand of Silk including styles from popular Indian designers including Myoho, Siddartha Tytler, Sougat Paul and VJ Balhara. Aswell as accessories from Ambar Paridi Sahai, Meera Mahadevia and Sannam Chopra, that added the perfect touches to each of the innovative looks.

During the course of the evening, Strand of Silk also gifted a beautiful Meera Mahadevia clutch to one of the lucky attendees from the evening. The evening was then concluded with a show stopping final walk by all the models on the catwalk as captivated audience applauded.

For Strand of Silk, the event offered the start of a relationship with the Italian fashion market.
