Shruti Sancheti’s Lakme Fashion Show collection called ‘Le Pondi’ was inspired by the beauty of the city of Pondicherry. Influenced by both French and European grandeur. The designs were a mixture of pastel colours with detailed patterns of blossom that decorated the fabrics. Sancheti created romantic silhouettes that evoked French chic designs.

Her clothing line featured voluminous jumpsuits and asymmetrical dresses. The European feeling was contrasted with Indian influences as Sancheti introduced kurtas and sarees with bright colours of moss, coral, aqua, yellow and lilac.

The stitching on the outfits were an intricate feature of lace yokes, French knots and cross stitch. The sarees were also covered in lace and prints.

Sancheti’s collection is ideal for the well-travelled woman who loves the handcrafted textures of India.
