The Indian fashion powerhouses displayed magnificent collections at Wills India Fashion Week, Autumn and Winter 2014. The designer label Satya Paul explored the ideas of forms and illusion through their show called Icarus. The collection featured crepe, slinky silks, jersey and wool materials. The colours used were lilac, crimson, nude, soft pink, mint and deep burgundy.
The line also featured sarees, vintage polo neck blouses, shirts, winter capes, tunics and jumpers. These garments were decorated with plants and flowing water.
There was then the designer duo David Abraham and Rakesh Thakore whose label is Abraham & Thakore. Their inspiration came from the city streets combining ideas of terrains as well as common urban essentials such as the smart phone. The palettes used included khaki and gold tones. The outfits were Ahimsa silk military jacket, sarees, baggy salwars and trench coats.
The Mumbai-based fashion designer, Tarun Tahiliani showcased a collection at the prestigious Indian event. The clothing consisted of gold thread detailed cuffs and collars, ornate kaftans, striking kurtas and mukaish-work tops.
