Representing opposite poles of fashion sensibility, the two well-known indian fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, the master of classic and rich creations and the king of spectacular and flamboyant designs, Manav Gangwani, showcased their creations on the final day of the PCJ Delhi Couture Week 2012. It was a worthy final to the established fashion event, showcasing two very different collections demonstrating the parallels of the Indian fashion world. There is hardly anyone better who really understands how to create traditional and outstanding Indian couture than Sabyasachi Mukherjee. His new collection "New Moon" embodies absolute superior style incorporating threadwork, weaving and a high complexity in layering. Wearing a very classic black and white saree, actress Sridevi did the opening for the finale designer. Describing her as one of the most gorgeous women in Bollywood, Sabyasachi designed garments for her upcoming movie Enlish Vinglish. 'My sister and I have always admired her beauty and for me I think, she is someone who looks fantastic in whatever she wears. I am honoured to have designed clothes for her,' the senior designer said. The catwalk with a solid architectural structure on top, was beautified with books, lamps and paintings to emphasise theatrical element of the designer. Models walked down the ramp in an assembly of shararas, lehengas, sarees, jumspuits and anarkalis, sherwanis pre-draped gowns. The models wore glasses and headbands, what has already been seen in Mukherjee´s previous fashion shows. His couture line incorporates elements of bling which is new to his creations. Before Sabyasachi`s show Manav Gangwani presented his collection. Gangwani shows are renowned for his bling creations, a front row full of celebrities and good, pulsating music. His line ‘The Royale Affair’ showed off his brand exhibiting spectacular and bold creations. He reconditioned his famous Swarovski crystal gowns and complex embellished lehengas in a new way. Instead of gaudy gold and flashy silver, Gangwani used prominent colours like hot red and black in his exquisite line. With the royalty as an inspiration the collection incorporated traditional and modern styles a fashion forward mix for women who are confident and convinced about presenting their sexy side. A beautiful end by the king of bling Manav Gangwani and the master of understated grandeur Sabyasachi Mukherjee. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Shop Indian Fashion at Strand of Silk
