Last Friday the famous designer Ritu Beri was high honoured by the Embassy of Spain, receiving the “Order of Civil Merit”.
This is a civilian honour given to her by Gustavvo de Aristegui, Ambassador in New Delhi, and Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs on behalf of the Spanish King Felipe VI.
Beri was really happy at the ceremony, particularly because Spain has always been the country from which she took inspiration, moreover this year she will celebrate her 25th anniversary in the fashion business, thus joy and happiness were at the top.
She was rewarded in 2010 even by the French Government with the Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters), that is the most important civilian recognition in France.
However Minister Swaraj announced the pride of the Indian country for her success, underling the fact that in 2015 it will be 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and Spain. The two countries has always shared a friendly relationship, moreover both of them are committed into the support of their national culture and traditions.
