Showcasing at the Lakme Fashion Week - India's biggest fashion show - is always a daunting prospect. But famous designer Ranna Gill is ready to take on the event for the first time ever.
In partnership with the Mauritius tourism board, the designer's collection will aim to showcase the island nation's local fashions and heritage. Head of Mauritius Tourism, Hon. Michael Sik Yuen said, 'Mauritius' cultural affinity has always been associated with glamour and fashion. Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority has associated with Lakme Fashion Week to further enhance the destination’s appeal in the Indian market.
'We have tied up with renowned Indian designer Ranna Gill for the promotion during Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013. She would be presenting a special couture line, highlighting the essence of Mauritius, during the event. We feel that Lakmé Fashion Week provides a pertinent platform to showcase destination Mauritius and we are looking forward to further building this association.'
Ranna commented too: 'I am honored to be associated with Mauritius Tourism for my upcoming collection at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013. I have been to Mauritius and this beautiful country has greatly inspired me. The contrast of a multitude of colours, the island, set in its turquoise sea and the abundant natural beauty has influenced my creations for the upcoming show.'
