The tourism board of the island of Mauritius, the MTPA (Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority), promoted the country's relaxed lifestyle in a bid to lure young affluent Indians to its shores.

Associating with Lakmé Fashion Week, MTPA markets Mauritius as the premier destination for the world of Indian fashion. Additionally, MTPA state that a visit to Mauritius for a holiday can rejuvenate the mind and soul. The fresh and pure environment of Mauritius will fill you with energy and make you look beautiful and healthy, according to the government agency.

Ranna Gill was taken on by the agency, and displayed many beautiful art forms of the tropical destination through a highly fashionable depiction. The concept of Gill's Mauritius line is looking comfortable and fashionable when on holiday.

Dr. Karl Mootoosamy, director of the MTPA said, 'Mauritius is a unique destination which showcases an array of beautiful landscapes and stunning beaches. Mauritius, being synonymous to fashion, glamour and luxury, it is great opportunity to be part of Lakme Fashion Week. Fashion and travel both are aspirational aspects of life. One is to look good and another is to fulfill the quest of been there.'

The designer, Ranna Gill, added, 'I am honored to be associated with Mauritius Tourism for my collection at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013. The collection was inspired by the diverse blend of cultures of the popular island nation and the abundant natural beauty Mauritius has to offer.I am very happy with the response that I have got at Lakme Fashion Week for my resort collection inspired by destination Mauritius. I have been to Mauritius and this beautiful country has greatly inspired me.'
