Indian Designers offer Affordable Styles

Designer clothing is not only about expensive clothes. Mumbai-based Nachiket Barve, creates scarves, bangles, bags and clutches. Raakesh Agarvwal design iPad covers, besides regular accessories. Another Delhi based designer, Payal Jain says that accessories are a natural extension of a designer's portfolio, and she creates a variety of accessories like scarves, boots, belts, etc. One of the most famous current designers, Sabyasachi Mukherjee is creating a large range of accessories. Reaching out to the masses, along with the classes, seems to be the new business mantra being followed by our desi fashion designers to tap newer markets. And one of their most prominent and successful experiments has been that of offering affordable accessories. From the likes of Sabyasachi to Namrata Joshipura, Anupama Dayal and Nachiket Barve, to Nida Mahmood, Manoviraj Khosla, Sanchita Ajjampur, et al, many designers are now offering accessories in affordable price categories, and finding newer loyalists in the bargain (pun intended)! The designers are targeting a younger and more value conscious customer segment that does not mind spending on smaller value products.
