Born in Mumbai, Payal Singhal produced her first couture look at the tender age of fifteen outfitting none other than Miss World Aishwarya Rai by winning the “Designer of the Year Award” from Shopper’s Stop in Mumbai, India. Her Indian Bridal designs are highly sought after around the world. Sensing young Payal’s entrepreneurial talent, her parents encouraged her creativity. After all, artistic innovation flourished naturally in a household headed by painter grandfather J. P Singhal and father Dinesh Singhal.
After completing an award winning design degree at the Fashion Design Department of SNDT Mumbai, Payal packed her bags and headed west to New York City’s venerable Parsons School of Design. Today Payal designs in her atelier in New York City and workshop in Mumbai and shuttles between the two cities. Payal enjoys a strong following among editors, chic style-makers and fashionistas world over. Suitable for traditional wedding festivities or a night out on the town, each collection balances feminine details with a seductive sensibility.
