To celebrate 100 years of Indian Cinema, the fashion designer Manish Malhotra introduced recently his festive collection at Grosvenor House, in London. The beautiful Bollywood actress Esha Gupta and Bipasha Basu walked the ramp for the designer and high profile people like the filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, the actor Fardeen Khan and the Indian director Gurinder Chadha, were present at the fashion show.
Since the collection was a tribute to Indian Cinema, Manish took inspiration by all the movies launched from 1913 to 2013 in realizing the styles. The garments showcased were quite simple, featuring clean cuts, and just some embellishments of sequins and Kashmiri embroidery. Main colours on the catwalk were black and white, while main fabrics included chiffon, silk and georgette.
Malhotra’s passion for Bollywood industry is reflected in how he spoke about the event "Cinema has been a part of my life and work for 23 years now, and the essence of it reflects in my creations. When I got this meaningful opportunity to celebrate 100 years of cinema, I had to embrace it and showcase a memorable collection reflecting my equal love for cinema and fashion."
