Vogue Paris reported that as of May 4, Manish Arora is no longer the Creative Director of Paco Rabanne. The Indian designer had taken on the role of Creative Director just last year, restarting the design that had ceased when Paco Rabanne himself left the label in 1999. A press release by the couture house stated that the end of the year-long partnership came about through mutual agreement. They have yet to announce a successor.
Manish Arora still maintains his eponymous label, so thankfully he won’t be disappearing from the fashion scene altogether. But still, this continuous game of designer musical chairs is discouraging.
