The ‘Festival of Hope’ fashion show took place at Kingdom of Dreams on the 14th November. It aimed to raise cancer awareness and to show those who are suffering from it that there is ‘life after cancer’.
Organiser Shalini Vig Wadhwa first decided to create the fashion show to encourage everyone to be alert and pay attention to the early symptoms of cancer, as well as to celebrate the spirit and resilience of cancer survivors.
Several cancer survivors were among the models that walked the ramp to showcase clothes from various designers including Meera & Muzaffar Ali, Ashima Leena, and Manoviraj Khosla. Money raised from the fashion show will go towards underprivileged children who cannot afford the cost of cancer treatment.
The fashion show has been a great success year after year and is a great example of how the fashion industry can give back to society. The foundation has been working on raising cancer awareness for the last four years.
