Kavita Bhartia showcased her collection titled 'Folklore Saga', on the evening of Day 2 of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring- Summer 2013.
Inspired by the dressing styles of peasant women in Eastern Europe, Kavita Bhartia attempted to create her 'Folklore Saga' right here in India. On the inspiration, the designer said, "The garments are traditional in the sense that they've been inspired from the peasant women of Eastern Europe. But that doesn't mean they cater to only international buyers. The cuts are very much Indian and therefore, appeal to Indians equally."
Kavita’s collection was very sensual and elegant. Known to blend the traditional Indian craftsmanship techniques with innovative western silhouettes, her line was quite distinctive and enigmatic.
Regarding colors - creams, pastels, purple, turquoise and neon hues were used and Kavita stated, "I have deliberately used light and breezy colours that represent the spirit of carnival, which again is associated with cheer and fun. I love mixing different fabrics together and infusing colour into them, hence I've teemed bold neon colours with soft creams and pastels that work wonderfully for the spirit of spring."
