After the excitement of the India Fashion Weeks, it is important to have an update about the key summer trends as we edge closer to that joyful and, in some places, very hot time of the year.

You will be pleased to know that the fashion landscape this season is significantly different from the last. The colour blocking that has been so popular in the last couple of years is stopping right now! This summer the styles are all about being relaxed, easy and breezy with sheer and soft fabrics. The designer Farah Sanjana, who showcased her Spring/Summer collection at the last Lakme Fashion Week, stated, “Silhouettes can vary from bralets and high waist skirts to fluid kaftan and culottes combo.”

She also added, “Think about teaming varied separates for more functional yet interesting layering. Keep layers light and sheer for a peek-a-boo appeal.” This season pastels will dominate the colour scheme as well as 90’s fashion, which will be making a comeback in a big way!
