The Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013 will start on the 23rd of August and will be held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai until the 27th of August. As announced, the line-up of this year will include both novice and veteran designers in an equal distribution. In the words of Saket Dhankar, Head of Fashion, "We have a great mix of designers this year. We will be having 50 per cent established designers and 50 per cent of them will be novice. So the look will be more young and cutting edge".

Well-known designers like Krishna Mehta, Shruti Sancheti and Soumitra Mandal will showcase various handloom works, while Krishna Mehta will be showcasing Manipuri handlooms. Shruti Sancheti and Soumitra Mondal will present their lines, entirely designed in collaboration with the Maharashtra State Handlooms Association. Finally, the last day show will be presented by Ritu Kumar and the grand finale designer will be Sabyasachi Mukherjee, who is returning on the ramp after five years.
