Whilst Indian fashion weeks have been more and more about showcasing internationally famous Bollywood actresses, it is important to consider the next generation of designers.
That's where India Runway Week comes in: it is well known that young designers are hungry for recognition, and IRW allows them the chance to make their breakthrough. The Indian Federation for Fashion Development (IFFD) provides a platform for these designers and aims to discover new talent, giving them a chance to enter the fashion industry and present themselves to a great audience.
IRW will feature around twenty four designers, these designers would be majorly young talent and a few established names as well, including Rajdeep Ranawat, Rakesh Agarvwal, Geetanjali Rawat and Digvijay Singh.
IFFD founder and director Avinash Pathania said about the event: 'I am very eager to organize IRW as I know how difficult it must be for upcoming designers to find the right audience to showcase their designs for. IFFD is providing a profitable platform for them. This is a one of a kind event that brings together a diverse group of designers under one banner.'
India Runway Week 2013 opens on August 29 and runs until August 31.
