Ace designer Sabyasachi kicked off India Couture Week 2014 by taking his audience on a journey through a train compartment. The designer drew inspirations from his recent travels while he shopped for his latest Mumbai store. Rani Mukherjee, who has been dressed by the designer for many events was in the front row cheering him on.
Collections present by veteran designers did not dissapoint either, from the gota patti worked designs of Rina Dhaka to the innovative jackets and dhoti's by Anju Modi - Indian couture was indeed at it's best.
Some of the other styles thatcaught our eye were the beautiful contemporary styles by Varun Bahl, especially the use of his surface texturing and the elegant cuts. The designer also added a splash of colour on the ramp with grey's and pink's in the lehenga sets.
Rohit Bal professed his love for ivory once again in his collection that was detailed with subtle gold embellishments. The styles oozed Bal's touch and are certainly ones to watch out for off the ramp. Manish Arora had an off-site show and his collections were a flurry of colour and textures.
