The most important fashion extravaganza in Indian bridal couture has started a few days ago in Mumbai. The first day saw an opening show by fashion designers Jyotsna Tiwari and Tarun Tahiliani. It was a line inspired from the seven colours of navratan jewellery for the first, while a mix of modern and traditional Indian bridalwear silhouettes for the second.
On Day 2, the fashion show was led by Pallavi Jaikishan’s new range of lehenga dresses and lehenga sarees and by Gaurav Gupta’s Lightfall line, which featured saree gowns and lehenga sets. The following day Indian designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacok stroked everybody’s attention with their collection made precious by heavy embroidered garments in luxe lace, georgette, chiffon and net. On the same day, Raghavendra Rathore showcased both bridal menswear and womenswear, in tones of saffron, midnight blue, red and royal green and characterised by asymmetrical and fluid silhouettes.
