Sunny lemon, pearly pinks and baby blues…with the beginning of Spring/Summer upon us, it’s the time when people begin to move towards cooler and softer colours. It is also the best time to start your summer shopping in order to beat the heat, whilst looking your coolest! From high street retailers to high-end boutiques, shopkeepers are currently busy loading their clothing rails with soft colours and light breezy fabrics ready for the long and scorching summer.
Ethnic Weaves have now presented a brand new summer collection of kurtas, saris and dresses in a variety of natural fabrics. Kunjumol Cyriac, proprietor of Ethnic Weaves stated that fabrics such as jute cotton and mul mul are perfect materials for the summer seasons. She also stated that the mul mul saris are uniquely embellished with block printing, jaipuri and mughal prints, whereas the jute cotton saris simply play around with colours.
Whilst pastel hues are often more popular during the summer months, brighter colours are also available. According to Kunjamol Cyriac, soft lime green and bottle green are the new ‘in’ colours this summer.
To mark their sixth anniversary, the Ethic Weaves boutique will soon be converted into a unique tiny village. A ‘chai kada’ will be serving ethnic food such as thattu dosa and ethekkappam, which shall be served along side ‘metre’ tea.
