Over the next decade, the online retail sector in India is going to increase traffic, thanks to phenomena like the stronger Internet penetration, the diffusion of smartphones and the positive attitude that Indian people are actually showing versus online shopping.

According to Arvind Singhal, chairman and founder of Technopak Advisors, retail consultancy, the E-commerce sector will became the dominant retail channel in India and around 30-40% of the overall retail in India’s top 75 cities is expected to be done online in the next 7-10 years. "The jinx of the fear of online shopping has been broken,” he said at the India Retail Forum 2013 in Mumbai, adding after “there is a large market for specialized, niche retailers as well as everything-under-one-roof providers"

Moreover, a report by Forrester Research and the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry reveals that the e-commerce revenue in India is expected to increase by more than five times: from $1.6 billion in 2012 to $8.8 billion to 2016.
