Designers Payal Pratap and Rahul Mishra hogged the limelight on day four of the Wills India Fashion Week. Sponsored by cosmetic brand ‘Fiama Di Wills’, the last show of the day ‘Be Young’ saw both the designers presenting their back-to-back collections.
Payal Pratap presented her collection titled ‘Opening my grandmothers trunk’, which was a contemporary presentation of the vintage style. The bohemian vintage collection was richly peppered with embroideries and detailing, represented in luminous hues of petrol, gold, purple, wine, ink blue and the ubiquitous black. Dhoti style kurtas and dresses were the highlights of the collection.
After Payal, it was designer Rahul Mishra’s turn to impress onlookers. Her collection ‘The Baroque Tree’ was inspired from the Indian heritage. A world of ancient Chintz and Islamic jaali works form the inspiration of his collection in a contemporary style, through modern embroiders and weaves.
Before Rahul and Payal, other designers who presented during their collections during the day were Rina Dhaka, Anand Bhushan, Shivan & Narresh, Dev r Nil, Rimzim Dadu, Sonam Dubal, Poonam Bhagat, Paras & Shalini, Aneeth Arora and Ranna Gill.
Celebrities including Shazahn Padamsee and Lisa Haydon also walked the ramp on Day 4.
