Gaurav Jai Gupta’s Autumn/Winter 2012 line has been inspired by the film Koyaanisqatsi. The documentary that has been directed by American director Godfrey Reggio in 1982 shows the relationship between technology, humans and nature.
As with his previous collections, Gaurav Jai Gupta for Akaaro, this collection also features the use of hand-woven fabrics and geometric silhouettes. The fabrics have been developed using Swarvoski crystal threads woven in with the fabric alongside stainless steel, cotton and silk. The colour palette varies from ocean blue and teal black to industrial grey, bright yellow, pink and orange.
