The big day has finally arrived and we can’t wait to publish all the collections showcased at Lakmè Fashion week!
In the meantime let’s talk about the Indian designers, which have already revealed a part of their designs.
First of all, Gaurang Shah who will present his Spring/Summer collection 2015, called “Kalpavriksha”. He will showcase his line inspired by the divine tree, that is famous in mythology for its branches full of all kinds of fruits and flowers. Moreover it is common knowledge that the apple grown on the tree will bring eternal life to whoever manages to taste it.
Thus every piece will be a celebration of summer, made with different fabrics typical of the season and embellished with the work of weavers from Andhra Pradesh and Bangladesh: a mix of phulkari, kalamkari and chikankari. The designer in this way, reaffirms his anchor to Jamdani technique, but adding innovation to his style.
In his opinion, the collection will be a success and while celebrities like Tapsee Pannu, Sonam Kapoor, Vidya Balan , Ashwini Ponappa and Priya Mani are already in love with Shah’s designs, we cannot doubt in his belief!
It has been some time since we saw Rimi Nayak. She has been really busy during the recent past, but fortunately she is participating in this particular edition of Lakmè Fashion Week. For the occasion she is presenting a collection called “Trail Tales”, inspired by her journeys. The line is a combination of different colours and geometric shapes, that together contribute to make an outstanding collection. She is scheduled to showcase the 21st of March.
And finally, Shilpa Reddy, who was the first Indian designer to showcase at The Eiffel Tower in Paris for the Minh Anh’s J Autumn Show 2014, will take part at the same event this year in New York. She is really excited about this possibility and can’t wait to present her collection, “Floral Geometry”, and meet her already existing clients in New York. However, regarding Lakme Fashion Week, we will see her on the 22nd of March and we can’t wait to see what surprise she has in store for the audience!
