Kolkata got a chance to savour exquisiteness in the form of moulded metal! We checked out Eina Ahluwalia's exhibition and were left awed
Eina Ahluwalia showcased her jewellery line, Breathing Space, at The Box, The Park, Kolkata. Aptly titled Trinity, the designs were an amalgamation of Zen simplicity and the dualities of life. The jewellery line takes a stand against domestic violence and that was reflected in the installations. Thus mannequins wore jewellery characterized by sharp edges. The 'dagger' neckpiece was one such example. Also worthy of note was the 'trident' cuff - bringing to mind the 'trishul' used by Durga to slay demons.
Mannequins were shown wearing red lehengas, channeling the bridal 'feel'. The charm wasoffset by the sharp edges of the exquisitely crafted jewellery.
Trinity also showcased 'Wedding Vows', jewellery from her collection that was showcased at the Lakme Fashion Week. Eina also had her 'Containment', 'Nature Series', 'Gingko Inspirations', 'Byzantine Collections', and 'Rose Window Collections' on display.
The do saw popular faces from Kolkata's social fraternity attend the event. So we spotted designer Kallol Dutta, tarot expert Nilaanjjana, Chef Shaun and wife Pinky enjoying the exhibition.
