Lakme Fashion Show saw collections from a wide variety of inspiring designers from all over the world featuring intriguing and innovative new designs and new models. The designer Asmita Marwa took a radical new departure from using an actress as the showstopper for her collection and instead roped in the hairstylist Adhuna Akhtar. The hairstylist looked stunning as she walked down the ramp in a salmon pink net palazzo. Asmita’s collection featured garments covered in Chanderi, Banaras and Khadi. They were structured like kimonos but were also flowy. The clothes were designed for resort wear and included off-white clothing with subtle hues.
Anushree Reddy’s showstopper was Ileana D’Cruz who wore a peach-toned blouse with a cream lehenga with sequins and rich embroidery. Anushree Reddy used fabrics such as kota, tulle, mulmul and satin. Her garments included gowns, pants, cover-ups, lehengas and cropped blouses.
The designer Gaurang Shah’s collection ‘Chandbali’ had the beautiful Kirron Kher to model a bridal look. The designer’s collection featured vibrant colours and deep hues as well as using silhouettes that represented the achkans, sadri, shaluka and assi kalis.
