Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor turned show stopper for designer Ashish N Soni for the grand finale of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. The actor looked dapper in a white shirt paired with a dinner jacket. 'This might come as a surprise but much before I became an actor, I modelled. I had walked down the ramp for late Mr Dhirubai Ambani for a travel show… and later became an actor', Anil said.
The monochrome collection titled ‘La Dolce Vita’ saw peplum dresses, jackets, short satin dresses or trench coats. The fabrics used by Ashish were mostly satin and silk. 'I was super excited about doing the finale. I hope it went well and with Mr Kapoor walking the ramp, it couldn’t have been better,” Ashish said. The models walked down the stairs set on the ramp to live singing and music by a jazz band.
‘La Dolce Vita’, in English means ‘The Sweet Life’, was a 1960 comedy. The movie was a story of a passive journalist’s week in Rome, and his search for both happiness and love that will never come. It had won the Palme d’Or (Golden Palm) at the 1960 Cannes Film Festival and the Oscar for Best Costumes.
