Famous cities and cultures inspired the collections at this year’s Lakme Fashion Week. The designer, Archana Kochhar’s show was inspired by Paris. The clothing was adorned with designs of the Eiffel Tower and Pop Art Paris map. Her range included crisp shirts, sexy slit gowns, draped dhoti sarees, peplum chemises, lehengas and suspender skirts. The menswear collection featured white shaded kurtas, asymmetrical printed bundis, baggy salwars and striped jackets.

The designer Ashdeen Lilaowala decided to focus on the eastern part of the globe. Her collection was inspired by the movie star Anna May Wong, the first-ever Chinese American.

Anushka Khanna’s collection was inspired by the 40th anniversary of Diane von Furstenberg’s iconic wrap dress. The designer created the Indian version of the timeless costume. The show featured knitted lame, strappy beaded tube dresses, two-toned kimonos, metallic skirts, gold biker jackets and jazzy wrap dresses.
