Designer Amit Aggarwal's couture line at the Lakme Fashion Week winter/festive season 2013 showcased a collection of clothes whose purpose was to juxtapose styles of strength with those of fragility.
The designer's collection was mostly comprised of sarees, gowns, long skirts and flowy jackets in colours including maroon, black and navy blue. The fabrics included tulle, velvet, and georgette adorned with hand-cut metallic strips.
'I wanted to juxtapose fragility with strength through my collection here. I have used a lot of drapery which has been inspired by the Indian sari. This is my take on what Indian couture could be,' the ace designer commented to media after the show.
