Designer duo David Abraham and Rakesh Thakore's love for minimalistic patterns and extensive use of handwoven fabric.
We have based the collection on the structure of the fabric and have used a lot of geometric motifs such as lines and blocks', says Abraham, the creative director of Abraham & Thakore (A&T). The collection is dominated by dresses, tunics, tops and trousers. After the closure of A&T's store at Colaba's Courtyard more than a year ago, the designers limited their presence in the city to a few select designer stores such as Ensemble.
However, this absence has not caused an impediment to their understanding of Mumbai's market. The Autumn-Winter collection makes use of handwoven styles such as ikat and Maheshwar and, at the same time, stays true to the duo's signature style of minimalistic and modern cuts. The colour palette shows muted autumn colours including ivory, black, white and pastels. A&T is in the process of launching an e-commerce site, which would go live by next month.
