Bollywood’s answer to Sex And The City in the form of chic flick Veere Di Wedding hit screens on 1st June. Obviously a movie centred on an Indian wedding featuring an all-female ensemble cast and produced by ace stylist Rhea Kapoor was bound to have pretty major style stakes. But there was plenty of fashion action to keep us enthralled much before the much-awaited release. The movie’s leading ladies Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania were on a breakneck speed promotion spree and as expected their looks at every event were outstanding.
Each of them stuck with a particular sartorial style in line with their characters from the film. Sonam Kapoor was seen in a multitude of easy breezy silhouettes, Swara Bhasker did contemporary chic numbers like no other and Shikha Talsania championed the cause for curvy-liscious beauties everywhere in fabulous figure flattering pieces. However Kareena Kapoor Khan was undoubtedly the star of the movie as well as the queen of the promotional looks, in her sultry and sexy ensembles that left us gasping for air.
In her come back post pregnancy, Kareena swore to her fans that she would return in the best shape of her life and boy did she mean it! The new mommy looked absolutely ravishing in midriff baring and figure hugging outfits, giving serious body envy to all of us. The actress who is proud of her glamorous image proved that women don’t need to start dressing conservatively (read: boringly) just because they’re mothers. Neither do they need to resign themselves to carrying around a few extra kilos post delivery because with a little discipline on diet and exercise, it’s totally possible to get back that svelte pre-baby body.
Kareena’s Veere Di Wedding promotion looks borrowed from a plethora of Indian, international and vintage labels making her looks unique and multi-dimensional. She rocked different fabrics, textures, silhouettes and colours like the pure diva that she is and we’re hoping to see much more of her inspirational style in the future. For now we have rounded up the ultimate looks from her promotional tours to give you a glimpse into the sexier than ever wardrobe of Kareena Kapoor Khan.
With most of the promotional activities taking place in the middle of the scorching Indian summer, Kareena chose an extremely practical and weather appropriate silk kurta set. Styled by Rhea Kapoor, she wore an asymmetrical off-white kurta with palazzo trousers by AJSK Gulabo. Fizzy Goblet juttis and oxidised silver dangles by Apala by Sumit completed this Indo-chic look.

On the sets of a television show to promote Veere Di Wedding, Kareena went all Indian in a Tarun Tahiliani creation. The embroidered gold and beige angarkha style kurta with matching dhoti trousers was accessorised with yet another pair of Fizzy Goblet juttis and earrings from Arnav Jewellery.

She continued to sport Indian designer labels but did a complete u-turn from ethnic styles. For the trailer launch of Veere Di Wedding, Kareena Kapoor Khan impressed everyone by flaunting those chiselled abs. The proof of all those hours at the gym was on full display as Kareena walked in wearing a complexion flattering blue Dhruv Kapoor co-ordinates set featuring a short tube, trousers and a blazer.

In yet another outfit featuring co-ordinates, she set temperatures soaring in a custom designed black Shehla Khan number. A ruched semi-sheer skirt, pleated bralet and a transparent floor length jacket, made this one of the edgiest of all the promotional looks.

No one can doubt the slimming properties of black and not even Kareena Kapoor Khan can resist the ultra glitzy vibe of an all-black ensemble. She wore a suit with a seriously sexy twist, pairing black RimZim trousers with a vintage Thierry Mugler blazer featuring net inserts. A pair of black peep toe Louboutins completed her glamazon look.

Kareena also tried her hand at some Indo-fusion that was clearly meant to make heads turn in her direction. She wore a textured midnight blue bralet with pleated trousers and a one-shoulder drape by Shruti Sancheti.

It was head to toe blue once again but this time in denim. Kareena chose a vintage Dior number by John Galliano comprised of a cropped jacket and asymmetrical skirt, finished off with a matching pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes.

It’s not always dressy-dressy at promotional tours as certain events have a decidedly casual atmosphere. At one such outing Kareena wore a Flow the Label creation. The off shoulder jumpsuit with a corset bodice and amped up sleeves has just the right hint of extra for a less formal occasion.

For an interview with Anupama Chopra, the starlet chose a boho-chic ensemble by the label Meena Official. The marsala hued midi dress with its high-low hemline and ruffle detailing makes the ideal inspiration for brunch dressing. Tie-up heeled sandals by Aquazzura rounded off this simple yet striking look.

At a special screening of Veer Di Wedding and one of the last few promotional events, Kareena took it easy in a retro inspired outfit. The monochrome polka dotted Michael Kors halter dress was cinched in at the waist by a white belt and accessorised with black pumps from Inoto.
